Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) for Presbyopia
Presbyopia is an age-related condition causing blurred vision at normal reading distance. It typically becomes noticeable around the age of 40. Unlike other refractive errors such as myopia (nearsightedness) or hyperopia (farsightedness), presbyopia is caused by the eye’s natural lens becoming less flexible. While it cannot be prevented, it can be effectively managed with glasses or surgical options such as laser-assisted refractive lens exchange (RLE).
